Assassin Energy, a food and beverage company, has found itself at the center of a brewing controversy after allegedly making a rude appearance during a recent stream by Kick Streamer, also known as Figgys.

The incident unfolded when he took to Twitter to share an unsettling experience during a recent stream, saying Assassin Energy slandered him on stream for saying no to a potential affiliate program offer from the company. Figgys revealed that the situation left a lasting impact, stating:

"Well, the things stuck with me pretty hard. But in a weird way, I'm glad it happened to me vs happening to a brand new person to the industry. No one deserves to be treated like that, let alone by a company. I will always stand up for what's right and for people to be respected. I feel it could have been handled differently."

The streamer further detailed the unfolding of events, shedding light on how the situation escalated. Figgys commented on Assassin Energy's original post without explicitly mentioning the company, prompting the company to identify itself, engaging in what Figgys described as "toxic" behavior.

Kick Streamer, known as forgot2pullout on Twitter, also witnessed the incident and provided a reaction, saying:

"So I was in Figgys stream watching him play and talking to him when he picked his phone up and said something I didn't really hear, but he mentioned Twitter. So I looked to see what was going on. I came across Figgys' post. Assassin Energy then commented on this post and started to talk down to him. After the post, he then came into Figgys' stream. All that I did was bring it to Twitter so that we could show more content creators and streamers to be careful with this type of company that seems like more of a scam than an actual company."

In response to the allegations, Assassin Energy released a statement on Twitter hours later. "After all this was said and done, they gave a very poor apology that didn't feel like an apology at all," Kick streamer fourgot2pullout said. He is referring to this tweet from Assassin Energy:

The tweet says that the incident didn't surround being told no to an affiliate offer. The company goes on to allege that Figgys attempted to slander the company's name. Assassin Energy says they reach out to anyone who likes their content to see if they are interested in the program. The company then blasts fourgot2pullout for sharing Figgy's chat to Twitter without any "background information." Read the full tweet by clicking it above.

This incident has other streamers in the community talking. @StrictlyMal decided to post an open thread on X, asking other streamers how they feel about the company.

Despite the response, there seem to be lingering questions. Level Up has reached out to Assassin Energy for requests to clarify what exactly happened, but have not heard back yet. Level Up will update this story once a response is received. As the story unfolds, the controversy serves as a reminder to do your research before accepting affiliate or partnership opportunities from companies surrounding esports and beyond. Make sure that they have an official website, or are notable on social media.
